LI Daytona 500 Party Ready To Roll At TJ Halpin’s
Racing fans version of the Super Bowl, the famed Daytona 500 is just over a month away and today it was announced that Long Island’s longest running and most popular Daytona 500 Party would be returning to TJ Halpin’s of South Setauket Sunday February 24th. The party hosted by Riverhead Raceway personalities Bob Finan and Stephen Halpin, along with Stephen’s twin brother Tim has become a staple for race fans on Long Island to view
the “Great American Race”.
No matter who wins the 500, you will indeed be a winner if you make your way to TJ Halpin’s for the Daytona 500 as there will be plenty of Daytona 500 pools, 50/50 raffles, giveaways, a free hot and cold buffet during the race and drink specials. The top prizes for the 50/50 raffle will again include, courtesy of Tom Baldwin Jr. and his TBR Racing Sprint Cup Team, two “hot passes” for the spring races at both Dover and Pocono Raceway for two lucky winners while a third winner takes 50 percent of the proceeds home.
“TV” Tim Halpin always does a masterful job in the Daytona 500 pools at the annual bash, with some 8 Super Bowl type pools normally sold for the party meaning 8 attendees will also go home happy. There again will be another pool of this type that will find one lucky winner going home with a giant flat screen TV; those boxes can actually be purchased in advance at TJ Halpin’s.
Stephen Halpin, who owns and operates TJ Halpin’s with Timmy Moore of TJ Heroes fame will again be serving up some great free food during the race and offer drink specials that include $3 Domestic Pints and $4 Import and Micro Brew Pints. Also plenty of giveaways will be dished out during the course of the afternoon while the race is unfolding.
Looking back at the 2012 Daytona 500 that fell victim to rain and was pushed back to Monday night, Bob Finan reflected “despite the rain and no 500 on Sunday last year the energy and turnout at TJ Halpin’s was amazing and we can’t wait for the 2013 race and hope you join us”.
Aside from the restaurant section, TJ Halpin’s will again be erecting a huge tent over their spacious deck that will be heated and equipped with a big screen TV, as well as a beer stand and the hot & cold buffet station for the 500.
With the Daytona 500 set to take the green shortly after 1:00 pm the doors to TJ Halpin’s will swing open at 11:00 am so fans can get a good seat and get into their favorite pools and raffles.
TJ Halpin’s is located just in front of the Heatherwood Country Club at 303 Arrowhead Lane in South Setauket, just south off eastbound Route 347 (Nesconset Highway).
