Transaurus & Grand Enduro Join NASCAR Stock Cars at Riverhead Aug. 2nd

Barbara & Jim Cromarty will present a very diverse program of events at Riverhead Raceway Saturday August 2nd when they present another perfect combination of NASCAR stock car racing and family entertainment events. Headlining the program will be Transaurus, a fire breathing car destroying monster and a Saturday night Grand Enduro 50-lap feature event.

For the past several seasons the Cromarty’s have either booked Transaurus or Megasaurus with this season finding Transaurus heading to Long Island from parts unknown to entertain young and old alike as these events becoming extremely popular. Transaurus is a fire breathing, car eating monster from a prehistoric time that will first shred, then cook and eat a helpless full sized automobile right before your eyes! Fans will be amazed at how little of the 2,500 pound plus car will be leftover at the end of the performance.

The Grand Enduro cars and stars will step into the bright lights of a Saturday night race before the tracks NASCAR race fans. Jimmy “The Kid” White Jr. of Southampton comes to the 50-lapper on a roll having won the past two Grand races. However there will be plenty of drivers seeking to put an end to that win streak including defending champion James Charrier of Shirley, Greg Zaleski of Jamesport, Phil LaManna of Smithtown, Rob Bader of Holtsville, Steve Mastro of Port Jefferson and Joe Parcelluzzi of West Sayville.

The chase for the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All American Series track championships will continue on this night as well with a 35-lap NASCAR Modified main event set for action. Defending NASCAR Modified champion Howie Brode of East Islip has a comfortable lead going into late July and hopes to keep it heading into August. The Late Models are back in action with a 25-lap tilt while the Chargers will go 20 but with time trial qualifying. Several drivers remain the championship chase in both classes going into the August 2nd program as is the case with the Super Pro Trucks who will also see action in a 20-lap main event.

Feature event racing is set to go green at 6:00 pm Saturday August 2nd at Riverhead Raceway with NASCAR Modified and Charger qualifying to be held starting at 4:45 pm. For further information, the 2014 schedule, rules and entry blanks please visit www.riverheadraceway.com or call 631-842-RACE.
