Riverhead to Conduct Safety Tech Inspection April 4th & 11th

Riverhead Raceway chief NASCAR Technical Inspector Walter Bonczyk announced recently that he and his inspection staff will conduct two pre-season Safety Technical Inspection days in the track pit area on Saturday April 4th and Saturday April 11th. Gates will open at 9:00 am both days with a $5 admission fee per person in effect.

Bonczyk, a veteran NASCAR Whelen All American Series official will be joined by his staff members Terry Fallon and Dale Doherty for the inspection process. It is also expected that Co-Chief Stewards Mike Cappiello and Steve Tooker will be on hand as well on one of or both inspection days.

All competitors are reminded that no race car will be permitted to hit the race track on either one of the pre-season practice days Saturday April 18th or April 25th without first going through and passing the Safety Technical Inspection. If race teams are not ready for Safety Tech Inspection on April 4th or 11th the process will take place starting at 9:00 am on both practice days. Safety Tech Inspection is open to all NASCAR and INEX stock cars as well the Enduro race teams planning on running at Riverhead in 2015.

All the activity during the month of April at Riverhead Raceway lead up to the track’s opening weekend Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd as Barbara & Jim Cromarty usher in the 65th Anniversary season. The mighty NASCAR Modifieds will headline a seven division race program on Saturday May 2nd with Twin 30 features starting at 5:30 pm while the Enduro racers get their new season underway the following afternoon May 3rd at 12:30 pm.
