Okula has 5 years of experience behind the wheel, as well as more than 20 years of experience turning wrenches on various crews. Among others, he has been an active member of the #72 Riverhead Late Model, as well as spotter for the #93 Modified and #89x Charger teams. He recently became the car chief for the #28 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour entry of James Civali, winning three Tour races and the Turkey Derby in the 2007 season.

In 2008, Okula plans to continue his duties on the Whelen Modified Tour. The date for his Riverhead Charger debut has yet to be determined.
