LONG ISLANDER STIRRING UP COMPETITION
IN STAR MAZDA SERIES....
Guy Cosmo will be making his return to the Star
Mazda North American Championship this weekend at the X-Factor Grand Prix of
Sonoma. During a four-month break in the Mazda Championship, Cosmo was
offered a two-race opportunity to step up and debut in the super competitive
CART Toyota Atlantic Championship.
The Long Island, New York-based driver
competed in the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship season opening Grand Prix of
Long Beach, a weekend highlighting an incredible 3rd place qualification in
the wet and an impressive 9th place finish for his first ever Atlantic
experience. He then raced at the Air Canada Grand Prix of Montreal,
where transmission problems in qualifying left the young American to charge
from 21st to 10th place.
"Stepping up to the Atlantic Championship
was a dream I've had for many years now, and I've finally gotten a taste of
it" says Guy. "Chuck West at World Speed Motorsports gave me
the opportunity and I'm forever grateful for that. Even though we're
opponents in the Mazda Championship, I'd like to show Chuck how thankful I am
for the Atlantic opportunity - So this weekend I'm going to beat up on his
Star Mazda team now that I'm back with Racers Edge."
Cosmo last competed in the Star Mazda
Championship with Racers Edge Motorsports at Sebring Intl. Raceway. He
finished an impressive 3rd place after his glasses broke in his helmet during
a heated battle for 2nd place with World Speed Motorsports driver Scott
Bradley.
Cosmo currently sits 4th in the Star Mazda
North American Championship, the highest ranked rookie in the series.
He's switched hats this weekend and is up against Chuck West' World Speed
Motorsports driver and current points leader Scott Bradley at their home track
of Sears Point Raceway. Having never seen the track before, Cosmo
welcomes the challenge and looks forward to ousting the World Speed effort and
the 50+ Star Mazda competitors. Guy is looking to take his first Win in
Star Mazda and the first for Racers Edge Motorsports.

Television Broadcast of the race
will air on Speedvision, Monday, August
20th at 8:00PM and 12 Midnight, Eastern Time.
