THANKS
TO ALL THAT CONTRIBUTED
This
past weekend the Long Island Racing community came to the aid of those in need
at the World Trade Center, at Riverhead Raceway & Medford Raceway, by
collecting things for the police officers, firefighters & everyone else
who is helping in the recovery effort from this past week's World Trade Center
terrorist attacks. The response was phenomenal. The racing community
brought everything that was asked for, from socks & underwear to bottled
water & band-aids. Many were impressed with the out pouring of people young
& old who came to the tracks to help with this effort. Some of them just
came to drop off there things & leave while others came to say how they felt
& that is was important that they were there, to do their small part. Team
Brigati's trailer was stuffed to the top with anything & everything you
could imagine, as well as the Marrzmotorsports trailer as well. The teams did a
great job and thanks from the bottom of our hearts is well deserved, as well as
everyone who took part in collecting things for the workers at Ground Zero.
There's still a lot to be done in the near future and we know you'll be there to
help out if need be . If you haven't done anything now, you still can. You
can contact radio stations WBAB 102.3 or WBLI 106.1 on the web at www.wbab.com
or www.wbli.com for further information on how
you can help. Or if you have the time, bring the things you've collected to
Island Harvest Warehouse at 100 Engineers Road out in Hauppauge. Another avenue
of helping out is making a check out to Americares and dropping it off at your
nearest Friendly's Ice Cream Store. A special thanks goes out as well to
Joe & Linda Larsen at Riverhead Raceway for all their help and Theresa
Holmberg from Medford Raceway for putting out the word, where she works (Magnetico)
and their contributions. Also thanks to the local media outlets of
WBAB, WBLI, K-Rock, WCBS News Radio 880, CBS 2, WINS1010, and any other media
outlets who helped spread the word. Once again thanks...
