RIVERHEAD RACEWAY INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS TO BE HELD
FEBRUARY 4TH...
Riverhead Raceway chief steward Joe Larsen announced recently
that he has set aside Sunday, February 4th for the off season informational
meetings. These meetings are for competitors who plan to race at the
quarter mile oval in 2001. The all day session will again be staged at the
Rodeway Inn off Plainview and begin at 9:30 am.
Based on success of the informational meetings in
January of 2000, Larsen along with his staff including Jim Maggio and Bill
Denniston felt that holding the meetings prior to the new race season is
again time well spent. The meeting is open to the driver and only one other
crewmember from a race team, be it a car owner, crew chief or spouse. Larsen
also wants to stress that this is not a rules meeting but rather an
informational meeting so competitors are alerted as to what is expected of
them during the upcoming race season.
After the Blunderbust division gathers from 9:30 am
until 11:00 am, the Chargers will be next on the schedule and meet from
11:00 am until 12:30 pm. After a quick break for lunch the Late Models and
Super Pro trucks will again combine for their meeting from 1:00 pm until
2:30 pm. The afternoon will conclude with the NASCAR Modified
competitors meeting from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Like last year the Figure
Eight class will have their meeting at a Suffolk Association of Figure Eight
Racing (SAFER) meeting in the near future at a date to be announced.
The Rodeway Inn is located at 333 South Service
Road in Plainview just off exit 48 of the Long Island Expressway and they
can be reached at 516-694-6500. To contact the Riverhead Raceway office
