CROMARTY CUP 25 SET FOR FIGURE EIGHTS MAY 10

Since 1963 the Figure Eight class has thrilled generations of Long Island race fans with their unique brand of racing.  This Saturday evening will be no different with the cars and stars of the division competing in the Cromarty Cup 25 at Riverhead Raceway. That will be just one of seven feature events planned by Barbara and Jim Cromarty with a 30-lap Charger feature also on the slate.

LOUDON TESTING ON HORIZON FOR NASCAR TOURING SERIES

Race teams from the NASCAR Camping World Series East and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour are set to visit New Hampshire Motor Speedway for a joint test session on May 12. The test sessions for NASCAR Camping World Series East and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams are held in preparation for the series’ upcoming events at New Hampshire. The NASCAR Camping World Series East will run the Heluva Good! Summer 125 on Friday, June 27 while the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will take the green flag on Saturday, June 28 in the New England 100.

ROUND 1 OF SUNDAY ENDURO RACING IN THE BOOKS AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY
RIVERHEAD

A beautiful day was to be had by all at Riverhead Raceway. Starting off the day were the Spectator One-On-One Drags with Pete Sherman Jr. besting the field. The Legends were next up and their return event was won by Silas Hiscock Jr. Ray Fitzgerald walked away with the winner's trophy in the Grand Enduro feature. The Truck Enduro was next with Tommy Walkowiak taking home the checkered flag. Anthony Pizzo took home the trophy in both 8 Cylinder Enduros. Crossing the line first was Sean Wanat in the 6 Cylinder Enduro. And the 4 Cylinder Enduro win went to Pete Verwys Jr. "Taz" Nick Herzberg won the Car Rollover contest.

MOTHER NATURE COOPERATES WITH RACING AT RIVERHEAD RIVERHEAD

RIVERHEAD

Despite heavy overcast all day and night, Riverhead Raceway got their whole evening in. Starting off with the Super Pro Trucks, #1 Lou Maestri took home the 2008 opening night win. In Blunderbust action, #00 Tommy Walkowiak starts off 2008 with a feature win. When the Charger feature was over, #81 Chris Turbush was in victory lane. Next up were the Late Models with #39 Roger Oxee adding to his feature win list. #20 Bill Park was declared the winner in the modified feature. And ending the evening racing were the Figure 8's with #58 Kenny Hyde Sr. taking the checkered flag.
