Rapid Recovery Towing Returns as Sponsor

Riverhead Raceway officials announced this morning that Rapid Recovery Towing of Hampton Bays will return as a marketing partner of the track’s premier division the NASCAR Modifieds as a seasonal sponsor in 2013. The NASCAR Modifieds will headline the opening night NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program on Saturday evening May 4th competing in a Twin 30 feature event format with time trial qualifying.

Scott Perlow, owner of Rapid Recovery Towing came on board as a seasonal sponsor for the NASCAR Modifieds prior to the 2012 season and he looks forward to the 2013 season, “week in and week out at Riverhead it’s an all-star atmosphere in the NASCAR Modifieds and we are looking forward to being a part of that again this season”. Rapid Recovery Towing joins Miller Lite and PRC Industries Inc. as a seasonal NASCAR Modified sponsor with all three adding prize money to the class weekly and an announcement will be forthcoming about an exciting fourth seasonal sponsor for the class in the very near future.

Rapid Recovery Towing will host their night at the races on Saturday June 22nd where they will have some of their fleet of immaculate equipment on display. The NASCAR Modifieds will compete in a 35-lap main event that evening for the Rapid Recovery Towing trophy and be joined by Twin 15’s for the Late Models, Figure Eights, Blunderbusts, Legend Race Cars and a 4/6-Cylinder Enduro. The annual East End Kart Racing club that calls Riverhead Raceway home will also see on track action showcasing some young and upcoming talent.

The NASCAR Modifieds will once again kick-off the new race season with a Twin 30 feature event format with 2012 champion Shawn Solomito of Islip leading the troops into action. Shawn is hopeful of being able to defend his Riverhead as well his New York State NASCAR Whelen All-American Series titles but will need to find sponsorship in order to do so. Howie Brode of East Islip was runner-up in the 2012 rankings and he’ll be a threat on opening night. Timmy Solomito is the defending opening night winner and will be making his first start for Wayne Anderson on opening night with hopes of repeating. Ryan Preece will be on hand in the Bill & Barbara Park entry, as will 2011 NASCAR WMT champion Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville in his Ken Massa entry. Tom Rogers Jr. wants both the Riverhead and NY State titles and will be ready to go May 4th as well. Eddie Brunnhoelzl III, Dave Sapienza, Jason Agugliaro, John Beatty Jr., Vinny Biondolillo, Brad Van Houten, Ken Darch, Jerry Solomito Jr. and David Roys are all expected to be on hand as well.

The opening night program will also feature the Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks and Legend Race Cars. Feature event racing will start at 5:30 pm and be preceded by time trial qualifying for the NASCAR Modifieds and Legend Race Cars.
