Fanfare with Brenden Madonia

It’s time for another edition of Fanfare, where we pick out some fans from the stands and ask them about what brought them to Riverhead Raceway.

This week we take a look at Brenden Madonia from Riverhead, NY. Brenden has been coming to the Raceway since he was 3 years old and has been able to experience the track both as a fan, a crew member, and a reporter for LongIslandJam.com. Brenden started as a crew member for Chris Young’s legend car team in late 2010 and says that his favorite memory at Riverhead Raceway was being a part of Chris’ championship win in 2011.

Although he has traveled to many short tracks around the Northeast, Brenden says that nothing beats the action at Riverhead. “The history that surrounds this place is just incredible. Just hearing stories of what took place here throughout the years is really cool and it’s nice to know that I grew up only 5 minutes from a place with such rich history.”

Brenden’s favorite division at Riverhead is the Legends, “It’s almost like they were built for this track, they can run side-by-side cleanly, sometimes three wide and it’s just amazing how great the racing is.”

Now reporting for LongIslandJam.com Brenden hopes to be able to continue his journey to one day write about racing in the future.
