Seven Feature Events On Tap For Action Packed Sept. 12th at Riverhead

The saying states “go big or go home” and on September 12th Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty will go big with seven feature events being presented. Five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will be joined by a Grand and 4/6-Cylinder Car Enduro with the show slated to start at 6:00 pm. The 2015 championship chases are winding down and in a few divisions this second to last NASCAR points night could be pivotal.

The headline NASCAR Modifieds are set for a 35-lap main event with Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead heading into the month of September with a 42-point cushion over rookie driver Kyle Soper of Manorville and it appears that Rogers is poised to earn his third NASCAR Modified title. After a stretch of three weeks off the Late Models return for a 25-lap contest on September 12th and going into the race defending LM champion Mike Bologna of Melville is just 10 markers in front of Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead and is 20 up on third place Kevin Metzger of Massapequa.

After enjoying a week off on September 5th the Chargers return to action with a very pivotal 30-lap main event for not only defending champion Eric Zeh of Centereach but also the drivers trying to overtake him for the 2015 crown. “Radiant” Ray Minieri of Bay Shore will come to the race 12 points back of Zeh, while John Baker of Brookhaven and CJ Lehmann of Shirley are 14 points back of the championship leader.

Over in the Blunderbust and Legend Race Car pit areas the championship leaders both enjoy very comfortable margins heading into the final few weeks of racing. As of press time defending Blunderbust champion Tom Pickerell of Huntington enjoys a commanding 38-point bulge over Jack Handley Jr. of Medford while in the Legend Race Car paddock area Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills is in the driver’s seat over Vinny Delaney of Holtsville by some 62 markers.

The Grand Enduro title chase pits two tested tough veterans in Greg Zaleski of Jamesport and former champion David Antos of Lindenhurst while the 4/6-Cylinder car Enduro fight boils down to newcomer Paul Wojcik of Centereach and past champion Joe Warren Jr. of Ridge.
