Fanfare with the Berner Siblings

Michael and Madison Berner have been race fans pretty much their entire lives. But that should be expected when you have family members who race every weekend. Michael and Madison get to watch their uncle, Tom Rogers Jr. and their cousin, Chris Rogers race every Saturday at Riverhead Raceway.

Michael, 11, and Madison, 13, both say that the Modifieds are their favorite division to watch go around the Long Island bullring. Madison likes the Modifieds because her uncle races them although Michael likes them because “they’re fast.”

Both of them expressed that they would like to race, but their parents won’t let them. Michael asked his parents about letting him race a go-kart but the answer was a very quick “no.” Madison, with more years of wisdom under her belt, said she’s never even bothered to ask her parents.

Even though they won’t be there racing, you can bet that you’ll find Michael and Madison at Riverhead every Saturday night. They may be young, but they’re two of the biggest fans you’ll meet.
